The finished guitar and a few video clips.

I have recorded a couple of quick video clips of the newly strung guitar. They are recorded with a basic camera so the quality is not very good but it will give a sense of how this instrument sounds. You can hear these clips on Facebook with the link “RG on Facebook” at the bottom of this page.

The finished guitar has a very balanced sound with awesome sustain and beautiful overtones.

The action and string spacing are perfect for fingerstyle playing.

I picked up my Routen String Instruments Guitar today. It’s all I could have wished for and more. All I can say is “thank you” to Mark … for building me the guitar I have always wanted. If you read my earlier post … you know I had this guitar built to remember my parents … they always supported my musical endeavors … to the point of buying me a Conn 8-D french horn when I was in 6th grade. This guitar is a fitting tribute to them and something that will be passed down to generations to come.

I spent an hour with Mark and Barbara this afternoon taking turns playing … I only hope this instrument will help me become ½ the player they both are. And just in case you are wondering, the first song I played was John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” …

If you are reading this and wondering it a custom guitar is “worth it” … all I can say is that this the best investment I’ve made in a long time … and I know it will keep improving over the years.
